Chasing results, not marks

Cupping isn't about how dark the marks are — it's about how you feel afterwards. The marks are simply a temporary response from the skin; the goal is to support relaxation, circulation and overall wellbeing.

Laura pairs it with hands-on massage and assisted stretching — moving the limb while she works takes the muscle through a greater range of movement, so the stretch feels more effective.

Massage questions

How firm is the pressure?

As firm or as gentle as you want. Every massage is tailored — Laura massages people who lift for a living every day, so if you think she won’t be firm enough, try her. Equally, if you just want to drift off, say so.

What should I wear, and do I need to undress?

Wear something comfortable. For back and full-body treatments you’ll undress to your comfort level and stay covered with towels throughout — only the area being worked on is uncovered.

Does cupping hurt? What about the marks?

Dry cupping should feel like a deep pull rather than pain. The circular marks are a temporary response from the skin and fade over a few days — we aren’t chasing the mark, we’re chasing how you feel afterwards. Ask Laura to add cupping when you book.

Can I have a massage while pregnant?

Yes — the pregnancy massage is adapted to your stage of pregnancy, with comfortable positioning throughout. Let Laura know how far along you are and about anything your midwife has mentioned when you book, and she’ll talk it through with you at your consultation.

Is lymphatic drainage the same as a deep tissue massage?

No — it’s light, rhythmic and flowing, designed to support your body’s natural lymphatic flow. Clients describe feeling lighter, less puffy and very relaxed. If you want knots worked out, choose back of body or full body instead.

How often should I book?

If you train hard or work long shifts on your feet, a regular maintenance massage every few weeks keeps tension from building back up. Otherwise, whenever your body asks for it — Laura will give you an honest recommendation after your first session.

Where are you, and is there parking?

Unit 22, Hobson Industrial Estate, Burnopfield, NE16 6EA — by Bodyblitz Gym, with free parking right outside. Handy for Stanley, Consett, Dipton, Rowlands Gill, Whickham and Sunniside.
